When Henry Met

America

"I've photographed America more than any other music group-- 8 albums and countless publicity photos! In 1973, we rode horseback through the Southern California desert, and spent the night at a palm tree oasis.

Gary Burden, my art director partner, had an album cover idea involving a mirror, which we carried all the way out there with us.

At dusk, Dewey wanted to climb a hill to watch the bats flying around and Gary said "Why don't you all climb the hill and bring that mirror with you" ...I wondered why, until I saw it through my lens -- the sun was setting behind them while the moon was rising in the mirror!

True magic and totally unplanned!"
