Futura
FUTURA emerged as a graffiti artist in 1970s NYC, pioneering abstract elements in the genre. He broke ground by exhibiting in contemporary galleries during the early 1980s, seen at Patti Astor's Fun Gallery and Tony Shafrazi Gallery. In 1981, MoMA PS1's New York/New Wave exhibition showcased Futura alongside Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Kenny Scharf and others. Curated by Diego Cortez, this landmark event marked his significance.
